Dangerous animals (PPP)

Service description

According to Law 50/1999 of 23 December on the Legal Regime for the Keeping of Potentially Dangerous Animals, the following breeds are classified as potentially dangerous dogs: Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Rottweiler, Dogo Argentino. Fila Brasileiro, Tosa Inu, Akita Inu and their crosses.

Requirements
  • Be of legal age and not be incapacitated from providing the necessary care for the animal.
  • Not have been convicted of crimes of homicide, assault, torture, offences against liberty or personal integrity, sexual freedom and public health, membership of an armed gang or drug trafficking, as well as no penalties for offences concerning the keeping of potentially dangerous animals.
  • Certificate of psychological fitness.
  • Proof of having taken out public liability insurance for damage that may be caused by their animals, to the minimum amount stipulated by regulation.
Documents to be provided
  • Original, valid ID card
  • One passport-style photograph (if you don’t have one, we can take it for you at our medical centre at no extra cost)

The medical certificate is issued on the spot.
