Service Description
Information you need to know before you come: the medical certificate, whether for the renewal or first issue of any firearms licence, must be accompanied by a passport-sized photograph. If you do not have one, we can take it for you at our medical centre at no extra cost.
Remember to bring your valid ID card.
We will submit the medical certificate to the Guardia Civil on your behalf.
Remember that medical certificates are currently required for:
- GUN LICENCE VISA: from the age of 67, the law states that gun licence holders must undergo a medical examination every 3 years to verify that they are in good health and can continue to hold their gun licence.
- Licence renewals or first-time applications (depending on the type of licence, these are every 3 or 5 years)
Types of firearms licence:
– Type B licence (pistols and revolvers)
– Type C licence (firearms for security and gamekeeping)
– Type D licence (rifled shotguns for big game hunting)
– Type E licence (arms for sport shooting and shotguns)
– Type F licence (arms for use on shooting grounds, ranges and in shooting galleries)
For more information on the different types of licences and their specific details, you can click on the following link to the official Guardia Civil website.
