COVID-19 ANTIGEN TEST IN BARCELONA
What does the test consist of?
Rapid in vitro diagnostic test against SARS-CoV-2, through nasopharyngeal swab. The test determines whether you have an acute infection of the virus, whether you have symptoms or not.
The test is performed by a specialist doctor and results are obtained in 20 minutes.
COVID-19 symptoms
The most common symptoms are fever, fatigue, and dry cough. Some patients may experience aches and pains, congestion and/or runny nose, sore throat, or diarrhea. About 1 in 6 people who contract COVID-19 become seriously ill and develop difficulty breathing. Older people and those with underlying medical conditions such as hypertension, heart problems, or diabetes are more likely to develop severe symptoms of the disease.
When can you take the test?
The virus protein is detected between 2 and 7 days after the start of infection.
Test reliability:
The sensitivity of the test is 85–89% and the accuracy is 96%.
